Grown, not flown, is our ethos. We are passionate about promoting British flowers, encouraging more people to appreciate the very best that the British seasons can bring, while buying locally and reducing flower air miles. Did you know that nearly 90% of flowers in the UK are imported? Why not get yours locally whilst helping the bees and pollinators who visit our plot.
Our wide choice of seasonal flowers include muscari, lily of the valley, foxgloves, anemones and rannunculas in the Spring, followed by delphiniums, echinacea, rudbeckia, cornflowers, scabious, antirrhinums and many more in the Summer. These are supplemented by large swathes of dahlia in late summer and autumn, ending with wonderful chrysanthemums and a selection of flowers and foliage ideal for wreath-making later in the year.
We cultivate a selection of elegant grasses to add into our cutting mix to ensure that your arrangements provide a scintillating assault on the senses and also grow many flowering herbs including rosemary, dill, mint and fennel.
Pitfield Barn Flowers is run by Emma Martin and Peter Dell. We are flower farmers cultivating a wonderful selection of British flowers on land specially prepared and irrigated for cut flower growing. Our fields, located within Peter’s farm, are surrounded by native hedging species, with trees and hedgerows rich with birds and wildlife.
